    Faith in humanity: Lost (FUBAR)

Went to the sno-cone shop to get a cone for the ol' lady. Was in line (not directly but its obvious when someone's been there awhile they're in line.) So when the cars scooted up and my turn came to be in line, the guy (who should have been after me) cut me off. I lightly honked at him, he didn't bother to look. No big deal. He moves up, guy behind him does the same. I honk at him as well. He rolls down his window and I tell him: "hey man, I've been here for 20 minutes." Not in a bad way either. His response: "The line's back there you ****ing dumbass!" I couldn't believe what I heard! There he is with his family in his car and this is what he blurs at me! Granted I got a lil mad and told him "well thanks asshat!" and drove off. (he continued to cuss me out btw). upset as crap. Common courtesy tells us that when you are in line, and you see another vehicle that was there before you and wants to inch towards the line, obviously, they are waiting as well! It is common courtesy to let them in. With that, I give you, today's society.......... Anyone else have run ins with those types of individuals?

People who behave like that typically have never had their mouth f*cling shut for them.

And the liberals say school yard fights were all bad. .....

Reminds me of the time I was at a shopping center in Albuquerque getting a haircut. It was a strip mall and parking was full. When I went outside to my truck, there was a white Jeep Cherokee parked right behind me with two Natives inside. He wasn't in a parking spot, but was just sitting there like he was waiting for someone. The driver was on the phone and I motioned to him that I was pulling out. He looked right at me then turned his head away, indicating he was ignoring me. That was the wrong thing to do. My F250 Super Duty had a large pintle hitch on the back and I got in my truck, put it in reverse and aimed right behind me. Mr. Native started honking his horn and quickly backed up while I was being screamed at with profanities and threats of death. At that point I determined that if he was still behind me the pintle was going into the grill of that Jeep, while I was unholstering my Smith & Wesson Model 66 with a 6 inch barrel and loaded with 158 grain Hydra Shok ammo. That's my truck pistol. The Natives must have come to the conclusion this Cowboy wasn't bluffing and they took off, still yelling their threats.

OP...you need a heavy duty vehicle with oversized front and rear bumpers made of steel or iron, but no huge lift. Out in rural New Mexico, these lifted rigs are called "Phallic Extensions", basically compensation for small peckers, and you don't want that. With that heavy duty iron or steel bumper you could pretty well own your space in relation to anyone riding your tail or cutting you off.

Next in line is next in line. I won't cut in front of somebody that was there when I got in line, I won't let anyone do it to me.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

Here's a true story. Obviously we all make mistakes. One day I was in a hurry to get to the DMV to renew my tags. They were about to close, and the lines are ALWAYS out the door. Well some guy at the light just stayed there so everyone missed the left arrow. I, got frustrated and cut through a small car lot like a speeding bullet. Lot owner caught me before I could exit and bitched me out ( don't blame him one bit ) after giving me a warning to not ever speed through his lot again I left like a pissed off teen, just wanting to get to the DMV. Well, I got there, got my tags and started contemplating. ManI sure felt like an ass! I felt rather guilty of what I did. Very guilty. So I did what I knew was right. I called the lot and apologized to the man. Came from my heart, not just from guilt.

The guy was stunned! he said I restored his faith in mankind! I won't lie. I screwed up, and faced my actions. We talked for a good 10 minutes and after accepting my apology, welcomed me to his lot if I ever needed another vehicle. Felt good afterwards I won't lie. Pretty good.

If your faith in humanity is measured by how people act in traffic, you're going to be miserable for a very long time. I also can't tell from your original post, but it could have easily been both of your fault for escalating a misunderstanding. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it doesn't speak on the good in the world as a whole.

And we've all been "that guy" at least once. Probably a lot more. You never really set out to ruin the world, sometimes you just space out and don't find out you've cut someone off/jumped in line until they're already screaming at you.
