Read a few months back where the new JOTC (formerly at Ft. Sherman, Panama) was opening up in Hawaii. IIRC it was on the island of Kauai (?).
I've never been in a Hawaiian rainforest but did serve 3 years in Panama in an infantry unit. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Panama's tropical rainforest is a bit thicker? Obviously some of the flora and fauna are different too, not too mention the creepy crawlies Panama had (Bushmasters and Fer-de-lances, Ranger ants, God knows what else).
However it's good to see that the Army is shedding a bit of myopic sandbox thinking by reopening a Jungle School. I wonder if it's still 3 weeks long?
EDIT........ Found an article from the Army Times written this month as a matter of fact. It's on Oahu, not Kauai. And yes, it's 3 weeks long. But scrounging up BDU's? Really?
