Trading out the UBR and Geissele Mk1 for the aforementioned B5 Bravo stock and a BCM KMR 13" should relieve you of at least 12 ounces. Mounting the light directly to the 12 o'clock rail would relieve you of another 3/4 of an ounce, and depending on what Troy VFG you're working with (aluminum or plastic,) switching to a BCM keymod grip would shed some extra weight as well.

Also ditch the eotech for an Aimpoint micro in a DD non qd mount.

I'm going to regret this I'm sure, but why?

OP, you've already made some good choices in your setup regarding weight of items and not hanging too much off your gun. Seems like a pretty simple and lightweight list of parts. I can only recommend at this point that you eat your wheaties and keep doing drills until you do get comfortable.

Thanks again for the advice guys, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with trying to change the SMR for a KMR (preferably) or a NSR or CMR. Definitely going to be dropping the UBR. Learned my lesson real fast that all the features in the world don't mean a thing if you can't move the rifle well. I know some of it is definitely eating my wheaties and working with it, I just feel like there is a lot of room for improvement, especially in how much this thing weighs. So now I'm off to the EE where hopefully my wallet doesn't take too big of a hit.

    What I would do:

    1) Swap the UBR for something lighter. The UBR is cool but way too heavy. You can easily save half a pound here.

    2) Swap the EOTech for an Aimpoint micro. Also useful weight savings.

    3) Try a different grip that is less vertical. Magpul MOE would be good. In my experience the BCM and other nearly vertical grips make rifles feel heavier because your hand doesn't support the weight over as broad an area - it ends up mostly resting on the side of your 2nd finger. A grip change won't save actual weight, but may make a big difference in how the rifle feels and handles.

    4) Your upper setup looks pretty good so that would be my last place to start changing things.

I would use a G&R Tactical LPK instead of the PSA and an Aimpoint T-1 Micro over the EOTech. The G&R Tactical LPK only costs a bit more and is higher quality.

    Solid question: weight.

The micro with DD mount is roughly HALF the weight of the eotech.

Just as a final update, and I might have gone slightly overboard with this but I just ordered a BCM Standard 14.5" Mid Length (ENHANCED Light Weight-*FLUTED*) Upper Receiver Group w/ BCM KMR 13" Handguard and a B5 Bravo stock along with the other stuff to make it work (BCM BCG, Gunfighter Charging Handle, and Stock Mounting kit). It should definitely lighten it up quite a bit. Thank you one last time for all of the advice and help that you guys gave me, I really appreciate it.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
