I'm not sure if mine is a new version or old version. It is slightly different looking than the ones on the website.

Older post, I know, but are there any update(s) on this?

nothing really to say, as with most things that work the way the should there is no drama and i've found nothing to complain about.
i now have it on a different rifle but am still very pleased.
I'm seriously considering one of these for my 7.62 rifle. I think I'm going to use a thread-on can, so having a muzzle device that doesn't require crush washers or being timed would be good for when I don't run the can.
Before you suggest that licensing, background checks, or other restrictions for the 2nd Amendment are reasonable... Apply those same ideas to the 1st and 4th Amendments. Then tell me how reasonable they are.
I have one of these on my 10.5" AR. It works pretty darn well to tame some of the jumpiness of the gun. I used 75gr Hornady HPBT over 23.6 of TAC, 22gr of Benchmark, and 22.7 gr of Benchmark.
One of the neat little aspects of it is that the way it twists leads to it tightening itself onto the threads. It's really interesting. I say this as it was noticeably harder to remove after I'd shot 100-ish rounds through it. Not very scientific, but it's what I've got to go on.
The trade-off is that for those who do a lot of prone shooting, this thing will kick up some dust. Not a lot, but more than a muzzle device that doesn't have holes all the way around it (such as a traditional muzzle brake).
