    "Thank you for flying SpaceX."

First water landing since 1975, first landing in the Gulf of Mexico.

I remember this question when it was 1970. We had just made mankind's greatest achievement, putting a man on the moon. So, the question was then, should we spend money on space or on black people and welfare in the ghettos of America? Welfare won. What did we get from spending that money on welfare? Absolutely nothing. Don't repeat this mistake again.

    C'mon folks...

    https://www.space.com/boaters-crash-...plashdown.html

It was an unprecedented sight: A SpaceX capsule — the first to carry NASA astronauts — bobbing in the Gulf of Mexico, surrounded by private boaters, one of them bearing a flag supporting President Donald Trump.

The SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavour splashed down off the coast of Pensacola, Florida Sunday (Aug. 2), returning astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley to Earth after their historic Demo-2 test flight. But shortly after that splashdown, private boats swarmed the space capsule, apparently hoping for a closer look.

"That was not what we were anticipating," NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a post-splashdown briefing. "After they landed, the boats just came in. We need to do a better job next time for sure."

This, we can not afford to waste anymore time trying to "Save the world". We waste at a min of 150 Billion a year on illegals....EVERY YEAR ON ILLEGALS. Never mind the cost of welfare for votes, never mind pointless wars for the benefit of our hostile elite and foreign powers

We gave away our destiny in 1964 with the promise of "New Society" that was merely a vote buying scam, a year later we expending the welfare state with mass immigration to the depths of the 3rd world...Enough and never again.

If the price for Colonies on the Moons is hordes of aliens are forced to go back to their failed nations because no more welfare? So be it.

If the price for Colonizing Mars is we cut all aid to the 3rd world and those who cant hack it if Whitey isnt sending themselves food starve? So be it.

If the price for Insuring our people and way of life exist above of threat of extinction and free of the failed ideas and failed people of this planet is that those same people wallow in their slum nations while we make manifest our Destiny? So be it

I was thinking about that as it was deploying main shoots "I wonder how many boats will be there to check that out." In this modern times with a live feed and that was not anticipated?! Seemed to me they kept a healthy enough distance at least and didn't race up and try and get a selfie but I expected lots of boats myself.

Better to learn the lesson this way from overenthusiastic friendlies with no harm done than from hostiles, right?

Obviously, it's been a hot minute since we had such a landing and if memory serves, they were way out in the middle of the Atlantic or Pacific. This is probably the closest they've ever been to shore and had people in position for such a thing.

For sure! Hadn't even thought about the hostile angle but in today's world, that's a legit concern.

This time it was off the coast of Pensacola and I think that's really something they should have considered. I did and no doubt others did. Lesson learned on their end but they/we are lucky it was a low cost lesson at least.

Free advertising and campaigning for Trump lol

I mean the Coasties did keep them back to begin with. I just believe maybe they thought folks would have stayed back after they asked them to once. I think they underestimated how excited people were about this entire mission.
