The Sentry series is one of the most compact set screw style gas blocks I've yet seen. The DD low pro gas block as used on their mk12 SPR clone is about the size of the BRT micro pin gas block. I assume that DD uses this gas block under their RIS II.

The BRT block is a good amount larger than the Sentry 7 in every dimension. So, while I have no first hand experience with the RIS II, I'll go out on a limb and say it should work.

so what is the forum consensus about these Sentry 7 and Gen 2 Syrac. Good to go or only for range/hunting use?

IMHO they are now good for serious social use. I've got one on my duty rifle now.

I used to consider the concept of an adjustable gas block as inappropriate for serious use, but I've been converted. The tool-less design, steadfastness of the gas settings, and the repeatability of the gas settings is what makes it possible. There is now little chance of the gas blocks 'self adjusting' against your will.

I agree. If I were running a suppressed gun for defense, I'd have an adjustable on my gun.

My plan with the build on the SLR gas block was to set it and leave it. I'm confident that it will not "adjust" by itself with just the few hundred I put through it. I have no long term use with it yet, but I do plan to put 1000 rounds through it in one day with a can on, and see how it performs the weekend of the 26th this month. Ill be trying to do a video of a few 11.5 SBRs with suppressors (Socom mini, KAC CQB) and (SOCOM RC vs the Mini) the same day and well see how it holds up and if Ill be even able to adjust the screw set after 1k rounds without cleaning it. I'm trying to borrow a sound dB meter from a old friend to take measurements at the muzzle, shooter, etc. Also will try to get some low light, night video as well.

I better see that video or you're banned for life.

Ill have to make you watch all 1000 rounds then!! I am still trying to figure out how to combine / edit videos. Ill prob have to have both rifles side by side and pick up and put down one at a time. My computer skills are sub par at best. Maybe multiple videos and people will have to open up 2 screens to watch both side by side. Either way, Ill get something out in the next few weeks. Finding time is really the hardest part.

Regardless, I look forward to them. Thanks in advance for putting in the work.

    Quick update:
Installed a Sentry 7 on a Centurion Arms 16" midlength barrel and got it adjusted today. It's a pussy cat. Only put 50 rounds through but no issues. I'm sold. Thinking about picking up a URX wrench just so that I can tear apart my other 16" upper (with URX 3.1) to install one of these as it's pretty overgassed.
