They've recently moved to all C158 Bolts.
Looks like I'm good to go.

Richdkim77 is a very good source when it comes to Rainier. Every company has lemons that their quality control misses, even Colt. I've seen a Colt gas key with some of the worst staking, but that doesn't mean Colt's stuff isn't GTG. Just means they missed one and it's up to them to fix it. I've bought from Rainier a lot over the years and have never had an issue with their customer service. Has Rainier offered to fix this bolt?

Mine was 9310 then apparently. I hope the testing can reveal clues to see if the finish on it caused the material to be brittle.

I have several RA BCGs and one has over 5k of use. No issues at all. It my just be a bad batch fromvthe manufacturer. That happens all the time. I had a bad Colt BCG that did not last 1000 rounds before several lugs broke off.
In no way do I make any money from anyone related to the firearms industry.

That's the problem with 9310. It relies too much on heat treating for its strength. Much more so than C158. I've heard there's a much finer line when heat treating 9310 and its easy to screw up.

Wilson Combat also carries C158 bolts. They are NIB and have them in Semi or Full Auto. I've shot 6000rd through their semi-auto version. No problems. That was suppressed and unsuppressed. Just adding another option.

I am pretty sure that Colt BCG's are not made by Colt, but a subcontractor.
