I have a BCM 16" mid-length and a RA RUC REV 16" mid-length. Both are accurate, both have been great shooters and after a couple thousand rounds through each one, I have yet to have any problems. (only shoot brass cased ammo, typically LC, now and then PMC, Prvi or Remington). Clean them now and then, run them both with Mil-Comm lubes. I also had a Colt 6940. That rifle was extremely accurate (more so than the BCM or RA), utterly reliable, and only sold it because I didn't like the short forearm/rails.
In fact, I can't help but smile when I read reviews of rifles that people have taken out and seem thrilled that they experienced to stoppages or problems after shooting a couple hundred rounds. I was so excited when I got my Colt several years ago, I went to the range that day, and other than coating the BCG in Breakfree CLP, didn't do anything to the rifle from dealer to range. I went through 500 rounds without the rifle missing a beat. I remember it was 500, because I brought half a case of ammo with me, and it was too fun to stop. If the front end of that 6940 was set up a different way, never would have sold it.
Perhaps one day I'll be able to find out if there is a real difference between BCM C158 and RA C158 bolts and other parts?
@ markm - I also have a spare BCM BCG, so I'm covered.
