    M&P9 Accuracy Report

Went to the range today with my M&P9 that is outfitted with Apex DCAEK and RAM. The pistol was purchased in 2011 and sent back to the factory immediately after purchase due to BTF and FTF issues. The report from the factory was that barrel and extractor were replaced. Since that time, I've put about 1000 rounds through it without problems.

Although it has seemed to group well for me, I realized that virtually all of my shooting with this gun has been 10 yards or less. Thus, I decided to stretch it out a bit today. The backstop at my indoor range is 25 yards. The top target is 30 rounds of 147 grain Winchester FMJ fired offhand. The bottom target is 5 rounds of previously chambered 124 grain + P Speer GDHP. Every round is from 25 yards taking no more than 2 seconds between rounds.

As you can see, accuracy was reasonable considering that I'm mainly a Glock / Sig guy.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.

I took my FS9 to a class and they had us go from 25,35,50 and then 80 yards on a 8x10 steel target. With the gun compleatly factory I was ringing that steel like crazy at all distances. Not saying that I wasn't missing at all but I'd say 70 30 and it was standing no rest.

Taken M&P9 fs out to 300yrds with rmr. Without rmr I've had 3 different M&P9s out to 200. 1 old production from 07 and 2 newer from 13.
35 yrds on B8 sized steel is no prob.

I have a M&P9 VTAC that I also took to the range today and had similar results. I'm not a big fan if the VTAC due to the indistinct reset that comes with missing a RAM; I find myself short stroking the rest on 1 out of 20 rounds. This becomes a much bigger problem the faster I shoot. I suppose that I'm spoiled by the rest on my SRT-equipped Sigs which is only a couple of mm. I'm also not sold on the VTAC sights.

All together, I fired 100 rounds through both guns. No malfunctions or strange fliers were experienced.

75 meters is my max with a handgun. I had about 2/3 hits on a Federal Q with my Glock 17 shooting 147 grain Speer GD's.

As for 300 yards, screw that. I barely hit half of the 300 meter pop-ups with my M16 (shooting irons) on qual day.

My mp was very accurate, 3" 5shot @25yd offhand with Tula(it was a 40 though) 2 friends have mp 9s I want to test out. If you get one well Made, the accuracy is great. Unfortunately the Tula ammo also ruptured so the gun is at s&w right now getting checked out.
