    Run a G17 slide on your G19!

I stumbled across this new item from Lone Wolf and thought it might be of interest to some: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=4913

Over the years I've seen guys like Steve @ ADCO do this for customers and most recently our very own Ray T did it for one of his customers. Some people like the longer sight radius of the G17 slide but prefer the shorter G19 grip for CCW.

This adapter gives you the ability to run a G17 slide on a standard G19 from without any modifications to the frame.

I wonder why you can't use the 17 barrel from the slide?

I think the dimensions and angle of the notch/lugs under the chamber are different.

I actually slid a my G17 upper on a G19 frame once and they didn't like each other

I love the concept and want to do a grip chop on my 17, but this might be a good alternative. Except basically you have to have a 17 and a 19 to make it work, and it turns two guns into one.

Lugs on the 17 and 19 are different.

I see the dust cover insert becoming an issue.

LWD mods and "improvements" are popular fodder in troubleshooting posts.

    I think I'll pass.

I have the basic Bowie 17/19 grip chop and I love it. The 17 is the most bomb proof of the Glocks and the 19 has a much more economic and, for me, ergonomic grip. I think this is the best compromise.
Don't forget to show my head to the people. It's well worth seeing.

I must admit to trying this with a G24 slide on my G27!

Retarded, but I had to see what a long slide sub compact sniper pistol would look like!

    I did that as well...

But, the 17 upper liked the 19 lower so much, I had to get a rubber mallet and a vise to seperate them!

Yeah, I thought I'd play it cool and leave that part out

I ran a G19 slide on a G26 frame with G17 mags for ~150 rounds one night at the range. It was a damned ugly monstrosity but it worked without a flaw (I know... low round count). I mention this because I got a kick out of the fact that my partner's Sig GSR Revolution 1911 clone had about 10 FTE/FTF issues while mine ran like an ugly charm.

The GSR is cursed...................my old Revolution TTT went back to Sig 3Xs before it just decided to die. Sig was nice enough to send me a refund for the full purchase price of the pistol after all the silly trips that pistol took back. The funny thing is that they probably test fired more rounds into that pistol than I shot it when I owned it. No more GSRs for me.
