Good reminder to always be vigilant. Sux to be him for sure, but thankfully there was nothing more valuable behind his hand like other person.

I tend to be pretty anal about the 4 rules; even when I am 100% certain the gun is unloaded it doesn't sweep things, people or any parts there of.

I agree that you should check the chamber on any gun handed to you, but I would put this on the owner of the gun as well. Should have cleared it before bringing it in.

No matter how you slice it, you are responsible for your own safety. If I were handed a firearm and shot myself in the hand with it, I'm the guy with the hole in his hand. I'm the guy who was unsafe, not the guy who handed it to me- he didn't shoot anyone. CHECK THOSE CHAMBERS

Both because they are grossly inept with handling firearms, and because they're just total jackasses.

Those are the two pre-reqs for gun counter work.
