This was the box my SOCOM came packed in, which has the KAC rail. Wasn't aware there was a white label :

    Well I'll be.

Mine had a blue label. Guess maybe if you had a blue label box you might be able to pull a couple extra bucks.

It would all come down to finding the right person at the right time if you think you would get more IMO.

This is what I'm talking about. The question is, will the letter reveal with which rail these shipped?

Does it matter? The RAS is an outdated rail and the Troy will be a fine replacement. The RAS is also stupidly overpriced for what it is....Unless you get it on the EE here, your looking at nearly double the price from the Troy.

Unless there is another assault rifle ban or something similar, I don't think there are any modern production ARs that are going to have high collector value. There are simply too many out there. If you purchased your SOCOM at a good price, I don't think it will ever lose value but at the same token, I don't think 20 years from now it is going to be super valuable either.

Personally, I would just shoot your carbine and enjoy it.

This. And to me, there is SO NOTHING magical about a factory built AR. You're getting a good gun when you buy a Colt, but it's not like an AR has hand fitting craftsmanship. I don't own one single factory gun.

Are we really discussing the collectibility of AR15s on M4C?

20 years from now some one might wonder what the hell it was when they pull it up out of the dust...

In 20 it'll be a valuable piece of protection as we ride our Camels to the Kenyacare witchdoctor's hut to try to get treatment for illness with hexes and potions.

In 20 years the Army will be using the M4A5 with integrated GPS and ceramic barrel.
