HK Specialist charges MSRP. My pre-order for the LE version is $639 (3 mags total, Factory Mepro night sights). Gordon had 16 orders for the last shipment he got in within 2 hours of posting that he had them available.

I don't mind spending the money, but I also want to get the best price. I feel that my pre-order price is really good (no idea when it's coming), but I also wanted one to play with right now, so...price of admission to get it right now was $739.

The one I looked at was the standard model at $689 on HK specialist . Clyde Armory has been selling that model at $599 and a local dealer actually had them at $550. I don't need or want it bad enough to blow $90 - $140. That's enough difference to purchase extra magazines and a good holster. I would rather wait for the initial rush to die down and pay a reasonable price. The LE model has less appeal for me, as I can't stand 3-dot sights and would swap them for Heinies anyway.

If I were you, I'd double check to make sure that your order is actually for the LE model, that price sounds just a bit along the lines of "if it is too good to be true, it probably is."

I pre-ordered 2 LE models at $623.80each shipping and all. Sounds about right for his order.

Took mine to Robb at Va Arms today to install the 10-8 rear sight and then headed over to a local range to put it through its paces. I shot 300 rounds of Geco 9MM 124 grain through it and I love every thing about this gun so far. Very flat shooting, excellent crisp trigger break, couldn't ask for better ergos.

There is only two gripes I have about this pistol:
    1. I wish the front sight blade was thinner. Because I have to cover the target with the front sight a thinner one would be my preference. The rear 10-8 sight is awesome. It works as its supposed to with the stock front sight. I just need to figure out what front sight to buy that is the same height but thinner and preferably with tritium insert.

    2. I have become so acclimated to a 6 o'clock hold on other guns this is a little different. I would prefer that with this one but I know I can learn to become comfortable with this sight picture eventually.

Besides these two gripes I cannot think of any thing I would personally change about the gun. I shot the gun free hand at 7, 10, and 15 yards at a q target. The VP9 felt like it was made for my hands with the grip and the trigger position.

    Robb,

If you read this thank you for installing the sight and it shoots wonderfully.

Below is a pic of the target:

Dawson Precision will make you a front sight that is .125" wide with a tritium insert, to any height you would like. If you want the gun to shoot to the top of the front sight instead of under the dot, they can and will accommodate you on that. I recently installed a set of their sights on my HK45, but went with a fiber optic front, and the first one was too tall and had the gun shooting under the red dot at 25 yards when I would prefer it to hit to the top of the front sight at that distance. So I called them and they made me another front sight with a corrected height free of charge. I will note they only do this with their complete sight sets both front and rear purchased together. Either way if you do the math, they'll make you a sight.

Thank you for the lead. I will contact them about the front sight. I can learn to use the stock sight height but the thinner front blade would be sweet with a tritium insert or maybe even a gold bead.

When RCS comes out with an x300 ultra compatible holster for this gun it will be my carry gun after I get some more trigger time with it.
