Hmmm, definitely a nice alternative to the daniel defense offering that ive been using for the past year. I watched my girlfriend drop my light and PAK mount in the damned dust two weeks ago. We had to search around in the dirt for all of the little bits and pieces of that mount.

The fact that the vltor mount is one piece is PRICELESS as far as im concerned.

Slightly off topic but how does LAV activate the light in that picture?

Does the mount/light rotate where the roll pin is? If so, what keeps it in position where one wants it?

I can't be sure without having one in hand, but I believe that is how the mount tightens against the light to hold it in place.

ETA: I probably shouldn't have posted my speculation. I'm sure any of the forum members that attended that class could accurately answer your question.
Nope, you got it right, except that LAV is right handed but left eye dominant, so he normally shoots from the left shoulder. We were doing transition drills when I took that picture, so he's shooting from his "weak" shoulder.

Just curious, is a 0.8" version on the horizon?

I picked one of these up. It is a very nice mount.
