JP Rifles GMR-13 9mm AR feedback

I think I posted this in the wrong forum. Please move to pistol caliber AR forum... Sorry about that

Since shooting my buddy's 9mm CMMG AR, I've convinced myself that I need to have a 9mm AR. It was a blast to shoot.

I've been reading up on different options available (dedicated, mag blocks, CMMG, RRA, Oly, Colt, etc) and I am leaning towards JP Rifles new GMR-13 9mm rifle. I realize its a relatively new model but I thought I'd ask if anyone gotten their hands on one and can provided some feedback. I read a review online and it seems to be a solid rifle with pretty good accuracy. Plus I think in general JP makes some high quality stuff. Thanks in advance.

You need to buy a Colt 9mm 6951 and be done with it.

JP rifles are not combat quality guns. They make guns for competiton.

I appreciate the feedback but with all due respect I wasn't asking if the JP GMR was combat quality. I have other stuff for that is combat quality including a Colt AR. The 9mm will be primarily used at the range for shooting steel and for perhaps some basic individual drills / training.

Based on your listed use wouldn't the Colt as an approximate $400.00 price savings be better than the JP GMR? Added benefit that the Colt is aesthetically similar to CMMG you shot with.

    Colt from G and R :http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...ction&key=6951 $1057.00

GMR from JP (couldn't find any outside vendors) :http://www.jprifles.com/1.2.13_GMR.php $1499.00

Yeah good point on cost savings. I need to check the California approved rifle roster to see if that colt model is on the approved list. I appreciate the feedback. Sounds like colt might be the way to go.

Outside of competition I am not a fan of JP rifles, as they go down easier than most in real world situations. but I do like how the GMR takes Glock Magazines, just get rid of the stupid side charging handle. I wish more would do this as well.

Honestly why not get a CMMG like your buddy's? I have been impressed with CMMG lately and their 9's have always ran well.

JP Rifles GMR-13 9mm AR feedback

Because I wanted a better gun so I can rub it in. I know that sounds lame.

JP option had 3 things going for it for me in no particular order: glock mags, 14.5" barrel option and quality reputation.

Might you be able to provide some examples of them going down easier? I'm interested as its contradictory to my experience.... Obviously I wouldn't use their lmos for a combat type rifle but they have regular mass components for those type of rifles or for those who don't want lmos.
