I was really interested in getting a side-charging upper from JP, for a Glock mag lower that I have. They only sell a complete upper. Then I realized it would be $1300 with no other special features.

I need to sit down, do the math, and see if I can build something cheaper with an American Spirit Arms side-charging upper in 9mm.

    I have a Colt 6951 9mm AR15 and also the JP Rifles 9 mm AR15.

I bought them for plinking, shooting my 9 mm reloads. The JP was designed from scratch to run 9 mm, but I had no problems with my Colt, the current version is a solid design. I find loading Glock 33 round mags easier than the Colt mags.

Both are excellent products and run with no issues. Buy either one with confidence, I got my Colt from Grant at G&R Tactical

I also bought a Spikes Tactical upper for the Colt (SBR) with an 8" barrel and use a screw on titanium suppressor ( Liberty).
    I like that combo.

    Have fun

If I may butt in as a new guy.....why not build yer own.....attached is a pic of a 40S&W I threw together last week, Green mountian raw barrel blank I profiled and chambered....Lone Wolf lower acepts 9mm, 40S&W, and .357 Sig Glock mags.....and just a standard upper reciever with Samson sights and Evolution forearm. Bolt is a CMMG opened to accept the 40 S&W case, and the barrel is an 11 inch with a 5.5 suppressor (I made both) until my SOT comes back at which point it'll get a happy switch as a post sample.
I used the Lone Wolf lower because the recently got them back in production, unlike the earlier ones it is billet and robustly made....but not availabel as a stripped lower...only complete with their LPK and stock installed.......it dosen't have last round bolt hold open and but I don't the JP does either. I'm working on fixing that on the Lone Wolf . Will be doing a couple of prototype 9mm's next week on a DDLES lower .....yes I know the company is defunct but the orifginal investors are bringing the product back .....and unlike the guy who ran DDLES are Honest and actually ship product. They will be selling under the name Quarter Circle 10 based on one of the partners cattle brand.
The 40 pictured below had a couple of malfunctions on the initial test fire due to a sharp edge where the bolt was opened up to accept the 40 case rim.....I polished it and since then over 400 rounds with out a hint of a malfunction.

JP rifles are not combat quality guns. They make guns for competiton.
JP makes far far better rifles than Colt. They also have the best law enforcement purchase program going where they will replace your gun after a shooting until its released from evidence. JP is far more innovative than colt and listens to its customers. Colt makes good basic rifles but they are far from the best in this day and age. JP rifles are far more than good looks and good triggers. They are made to a higher level than other guns on the market. They are expensive but you will not regret your purchase.

What makes them better than Colt?
This isn't an illegal gun, it's an "undocumented protection device". Don't be so insensitive.

I have a JP GMR-13 on order. I wish I could give you a review on one, but I think by the time it's done I'll still be deployed. As soon as I have it in my hands I'll write a review for you.
