    New NRA Commercial

I'm sure many of you got the email with this. The description sounded great but the AD sucks IMO. They need an ad showing the NRA as regular Americans, including LE and .mil. Something to contrast to the media image of the 350lb slob in a fast food joint wearing camo with an AR slung over his shoulder.

Seems incoherent and rambling like Wayne LaPierre on a Sunday talk show.

Actually I didn't think it was too bad. Rather ingenious on the spin. I like it.

BTW, who are those 3 people in the ad? Famous or well known?

ETA---I did like what the one guy said about a troop laying down their life so their brothers could live. Not about Mom, apple pie, or the flag......the guys to their left and right. Isn't that what it really comes down to?

Maybe I'm missing something. I thought it could have been WAY WAy better.

The black guy is a spokesman they use a lot. Not sure who the other two are.

Honestly, the NRA needs to get whomever did the PWS Modern Musket video:

I liked the NRA video, but it should have focused more on Americana like this one.

I think the NRA video was brilliant, inspiring, and more importantly, convincing to people who aren't currently gun owners or NRA members.

The PWS video did nothing for me and just felt cheesy and contrived. It didn't even appeal to me as a rabid gun owner.

Have to disagree. I think the PWS video hits a lot harder as it could be anyone or any family. Nothing but pure values and apple pie. And the message is strong, but not overbearing. A veteran, husband and a father protecting his world and the things he holds dearest. Not sure how that's cheesy.

The NRA video was a little bleak in my opinion and honestly focused in a lot on the first responders. Like Old State said, it should be focused on all gun owners which is why I liked the everyman approach of the PWS ad.

The part about the guy laying down his life hits hard though.

Two different messages. One is an ad for a gun that tries to leverage people's patriotism and protective instinct and equate those with the modern musket rifle. The other is an add for an organization that is trying to equate itself with the perceived "good" guys symbolized by those serving in uniform.

Both get their point across well.

The black guy is Colion Noir. I HIGHLY suggest you subscribe to his YouTube channel. He IS the voice we need right now.

The white dude with the spikey hair is Dom Raso. Navy SeAL, Bad ass and all around good guy. Another excellent spokesman for our side.

Not a bad ad at all.
