Pray for the families of the fallen. The one from 2011 is in the west part of Las Vegas and would be west (across the freeway) from the strip if you want to orient yourself from visiting LV. The one today is in the NE part of LV, which would be to the north of the strip and east of the Fremont street area, just south of Nellis AFB.

Sheriff Doug Gillespie identified the officers as Alyn Beck, 42, and Igor Soldo, 32. He said no motive for the attack has been determined...

A law enforcement official who has been briefed on the incident said one officer was refilling a soft-drink when the female shooter approached him from behind and shot him in the head, killing him instantly.

The woman then shot the other officer several times as he was trying to draw his pistol. Initial reports indicate that Soldo was the officer shot at the soda machine, but that has not been confirmed. Gillespie did say one of the officers was able to fire back.

I would be interested in knowing why this was the day they chose to initiate their attack and what the investigation will reveal. Is it just these two people or will there be another attack like this one in the near future?

Unconfirmed reporting that the Victim in Walmart had a CCW and shot the male assailant before he was hit. Also claiming that the shooters then went to the back of the store and fulfilled a suicide pact.

Who was the sheep? I'm confused. 2 officers were deliberately targeted on their lunch break. The shitheads then stole their weapons and from reports were engaged by a CCW'ing citizen. Guess we're not on the same page since I don't understand the sheep reference.

It's a sad reality that LEOs should have to act like old school gun fighters and mobsters, but if eating in a public place, taking a corner table and keep your back to the wall with a full view of the place seems warranted. That's my approach as a rule and if I were LEO, I wouldn't eat anywhere that was not an option, especially if I worked in a high crime/high nut job city like Vegas.
