I was browsing the sporting goods department of one local Wal-Mart today and they had the LE6920MP-B for $869.00, along with several other flavors of pony rifles.
A few months back I was in a local Wal Mart. They had many rifles (not just Colt) on clearance. The guy at the counter said Wal Mart was clearing out some "SKU"s. He said, in effect, "we are not going to carry 5 different Colt ARs. We will carry one."
That said, I still see different versions at Wally World, and they are no longer at clearance prices.
My local Walmart Supercenter never carried anything but fudd guns until a few months ago. Now they have a Colt SOCOM and a 6920 but want too much for both. They also have a couple DPMS and Windham carbines.
just grabbed me one magpul version for $850.
im gonna replace the furniture with the stuff i have already like kac quadrail, a2 stock and grip and matech buis. ill prolly sell the magpul as a lot on ebay together with all the pmags.
i was standing at the counter for a good half hou and i almost got the M4A1. the m4a1, 6940 and blackhawk version went for $997. though the blackhawk came with a pelican case and some survival gear stuff. i still prefer the good ol "colt M4 556" rollmark.

.
I got 2 friends to each pickup a SOCOM and 1 guy the MP-FDE. Really great deals.
Hate to see WM drop quality guns.
.
The two nearest Wal-Marts to me don't carry firearms but they do have tons of ammo. The few Colts I have seen at a Wal-Mart have been 6920 models.
My Wal Mart currently has 4 Colts in stock.
Although it isn't my favorite store to shop, I'm pretty happy with the guns and ammo they carry.
Picked up a 6920 SOCOM today to go along with my Magpul OD 6920. Price was $997. Guy in front of me got a 6940 for the same price. Oddly enough right next to it was a standard 6920 for $1097.
Word is Walmart is keeping the basic Colt 6920s, and dropping all the other Colt variations, thus the sale prices.
