If you look around on the web, it also seems that the Eco Boost F-150s have another problem - the turbos are located fairly low in the engine bay and during driving in pouring rain...drivers are reporting their engines shutting off!

also a hot topic on the F-150 forums:

Honestly...I'd skip this motor. If you really need to tow...step on up to a diesel like my 6.6 Duramax.

I had occasion to be in the River Rouge plant the other day and watched them being built. Whatever is thought of the trucks themselves, that is one impressive factory.

Addressed with some rather routine TSB's. it also has little to do with the the turbo itself, it's the intercooler doing "too good" a job at cooling, and creating condensation.

Like it or not, technically advanced turbo charged and electric/IC hybrid power plants are the wave of the future. The use of new materials like aluminum and composites will also steadily increase, as well as more aerodynamically sculpted shapes. Drag, weight, and propulsion efficiency are the big levers for fuel economy and the car companies have no choice to pull those levers.

It's nothing to do with liking it. I prefer to let others use their time and money to test new technology wrapped in a $30K+ package.

2 door, FX2 standard cab, aluminum body and either the 5.0 and a blower or 3.6 with the 4.10 rear end would be a bad ass little sport truck.

You can order that combo with the 3.6, but you cant with the 5.0.

Hmmmm. If you could put the powder down having a little 600 HP sport truck would be fun.

I liked the Atlas prototype front, but the new 2015 grill has yet to grow on me. Saving 700lbs from this chassis with the 3.5L TT should make for a quick little big truck.

Ford has the Tremor F150 coming out. That's going to be a quick truck.

The rumor mills have been going for a while about a TT 5.0. Supposedly when the 5.0 was being designed Ford had it in the back of their mind.
