I should add that it has functioned fine so far and I got a bcg at a decent price in the middle of the gun panic so I was pleased and have no beef with MI. Comparing it objectively with my other carriers though there is no contest. The BCM and LMT carriers are noticeably smoother when running the charging handle.

Since it became a backup bcg for me I have done slight polishing on the carrier rails and underside and it is definitely more smooth now. I've read the anti polishing threads so no need to link to them.

Camera phone pics. Sorry. Also I'm not sure how they will look uploaded through Tapatalk.

I just ordered a new spare BCM from G&R. My Aimpoint micro I order from them should be here tomorrow.

Grant-what about the S&W FA BCGs you have? Aren't those by a USGI contractor and from a .mil overrun?

I remember when you could get LMT BCGs for about the same price as a BCM. Not anymore!

BCM is the way to go.

Why do you need to get a new BCG? Simply put, I would get (2) spare bolts and call it a day. Carriers very rarely go down. It's usually a component of the bolt.

I have seen Key's damaged. Spare Bolt, Key, hex bolts, Cam Pin, firing Pin and FP Retaining Pin.

Like IG said, the BC itself is a low-stress, long lived part.

I remember not to long ago BCM BCG's being around $110

OP like a lot of people have been saying just get a new bolt and while your at it get some cam pins, cotter pins, gas rings, extractor, and extractor springs.

BCM BCG's haven't been that low in years. Probably at least 3-4 years.
