I was going to buy some 223 /5.56 ammo today, and it was going to cost me $90 bucks for 200 rounds.I went to my local dicks sporting goods store and just bought a Ruger 10/22. (This is from a person who was shooting 2500 to 3500 rounds of 5.56/7.62x39 a month a few years back)

    I bought a G17 because I can't afford to shoot my G22.

I have only switched to purchasing .22lr's. I have no .22's in my inventory so I figure it's about time to get a couple .22 rifles and pistols. Centerfire ammo is expensive as hell, especially 223 and 308....so I got a GSG5 and put a SPikes Tactica .22 upperl on layaway and I'll be getting a ruger .22 or maybe a .22 upper for my 1911. if i get into ruger .22 pistols i know i'm getting into trouble...coz im gonna have to get a pac lite upper and trick it out....add a reflex site on top...get crimson trace grips.....serious money pit but at least the ammo is g2g.

I reload 9mm, so it's still a viable caliber to shoot. I don't have 40 dies, and 45 ACP projectiles are pretty expensive.... so 9mm it is. Plus I get practice on the exact same platform as my carry pistol.

My buying has increased because I think the price inflation seen in other areas hasn't befallen firearms, but that it will in time.

    Wink

i'm running a pretty healthy budget deficit thanks to LAV.

seriously, inflation, if it were reported correctly by the fed.gov, is running at 9% per annum. not 2-3%.

this is an interesting website if you're into economic stats and how the fed.gov is mismeasuring and mis-reporting things like inflation (who the hell lives without energy and food?) and unemployment.

and we all have alan greenspan (the idiot who quadrupled our money supply at the same time GDP only doubled during his tenure) to blame for this huge mess.

that and the chinese hogging copper to build a skyscraper a day.
