man I just picked it up. I did what you said. I just really checked the thing out to make sure that it had all clean cuts and everything. I paid 100 bucks for it at the Camp Lejeune PX. NO TAXS!!!

I just picked up 3 Mega lowers, one built with DPMS LPK and two bare. They are all exact clones of each other. I'm impressed with the work, I compared them directly to a Noveske lower and the only flaw I found in them were very light machine marks on the grip mount where nobody will ever see them. The Noveske had a lighter, more smooth finish too. Now I just need my darned LMT upper and my PMAGs. This is too much fun.

    Thumbs up mega lowers

i haven't built a mega in a while but i did build a couple when they first came out --back then they were $86 out the door--but everything is higher now days.

as i recall they were very good--every thing fit right --tight enough but not so tight you had to use excessive pressure to get it assembled. function perfect and in specs--

another lower i like is double-star from winchester ky--

they often sell for $99 shipped from buds guns and other places. they are made by LAR. the last double-stars i built everything fit perfect. i really like how the mags fit. just snug enough to not be loose--but easy-drop free.

i just missed that deal on the charles daly lowers on this site!! a day late and a dollar short.

most of the lowers are made by the same few producers anyways so i don't worry too much about the brand name--as long as it is forged proper and the machining is right i go for the least expensive that will do the job.

I totally get what you're sayin'. I'm trying to find the scratch for 2 more Mega lowers just for shits and giggles.

I finished my lower with an EMOD, and a full MIAD. I started my brother's build with a cheap DPMS LPK and an Ergo grip, he's got a Magpul trigger guard inbound, and stock is TBD. These are awaiting a 14.5" LMT from Grant for me and a 16" or 14.5" for my bro that are inbound from my FFL holder since he got a pretty good deal for me too. Unfortunately he had to order direct from LMT so who knows when those will get here. I can't wait to finish the builds so I can take that Mega upper and send it to Grant.
