I believe that extra 14" of waistline is known as "tactical padding"
I only wear 5.11 shorts with my Combat Tevas.

What a bunch of catty bitches in this thread taking pot shots at people they personally judge as inferior. You feel superior taking jabs at others? Grow up.
I'm not fat, I'm tactically padded.

I understand your point, but there's far worse examples of the "tactical" label that decent cargo pants for large fella's does not register on the meter at this point for me. Things like tactical bottle openers and tactical pens etc. makes the pants seem downright reasonable. First rule of tact-cool is, it must me black.![]()

I saw a tactical grilling apron recently in Multicam.
Now that is tactical.

I have one myself and they are great (as a pen and perhaps a pointy object in your hand) but what makes them tactical I'm unclear. Maybe just that they are much more robustly built than typical pens? Maybe a bad example. How about Tactical Spatula Sheath from Tacticla Grilling ?

Another bad example, I kind want now!

You need to check out these offerings, Will: http://www.jaktogo.com/Index/
I would think a leather Ponchotogo would position you as el Yanqui fashionisto supremo on your Central American excursion.
