Not so. Re-read the bolded section-
When you rent, you are given the right to exclusive possession or use7/24/2006--Public Law.
Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005 - States that a condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association may not adopt or enforce any policy, or enter into any agreement, that would restrict or prevent an association member from displaying the U.S. flag on residential property within the association with respect to which such member has a separate ownership interest or a right to exclusive possession or use.

Anyone have an ISIS flag? Bet it'd be just fine to hang over the balcony and in the unlikely event that YOU have a problem with it, well be an adult and deal with your bigotry.

...and only conservatives exercise selectivity? Today, we cannot protect our liberty of displaying the flag of our country because it's unsafe, tomorrow we cannot have a range to shoot for our safety, we cannot rent or buy living space because of safety concerns due to ethnicity, religious belief, style of dress.
The problem with what is going on today isn't about right and wrong or justice and mercy, it's about lawful and unlawful. We want to take the lazy way out and have a checklist to make our decisions for us so we don't have to make a decision or take responsibility. When we come up against a situation where the checklist doesn't apply, we panic and bleat for one that does until we are choked in rules, regulations and laws that no longer have any basis in common sense.
If we didn't have some sort of government oversight, something else would step into the power vacuum. At least with our form of government, we have some control- or we would if folks would perform their civic duty and vote, campaign and run for office. We also have to continually guide our government. It's not "fire & forget".
Today, we have a law preventing petty tyrants from preventing us from flying our flag. Tomorrow, we adjust that law to prevent petty tyrants from flying the flag in a manner that gives them unrighteous dominion over others. Either we have a government that allows us to collectively solve these problems without devolving into a shooting war or we default to something worse.
It's simple to think we can just push the government completely out of our business. But how do we prevent corporations form monopolizing resources? How do we prevent the excesses of the late 19th & early 20th century railroad and oil barons holding farmers, small ranchers, towns and small oil companies hostage from repeating itself?
How is the flag law enforced? Are police sent out to look for violations? No. It's only to give the little guy something to stand on while fighting an often larger entity for what they feel is right.
The concept behind the law isn't perfect, but neither are we. Wrestling with an imperfect concept to protect our liberties is better than giving up to oppression

F#uck Them...
My written response would be the same as Cdr, 101st ABN to the Germans at the Battle of Bastogne....

I think I understand your frustration, Will. We should take the good from each point of view and excise the bad. We should show the compassion the liberals cry for but not enable. We should generate the wealth conservatives but not by impoverishing others. The Libertarians are right that we should free ourselves of governmental overlords but not at the expense of public safety. We should fight with the Progressives to improve conditions of the average person but not cripple the wealthy. It's only human to be given a little power and wanting to take a lot
