    Someone I think got ahold of him and said that he might be imperiling the case filed against the law.

    bullshit. He knew exactly what he was doing. If he really thought it was wrong, he would propose the legislation to undo it. This is nothing more than "oh crap, I ticked the voters off, I'd better say something quickly as my reelection is coming up..."

    As I recall the Governor was adamant the Legislature pass all those gun laws as he was anxious to sign them, no?
