My AMEX account online shows this as the "merchant" that charged my account:

    PAYPAL *TYHESSIAANE 4029357733 CA

Paypal has no idea who they are, and my account history on Paypal has no transactions listed on it since my last EE transaction on here about 2 months ago.

I did some google research when this occurred and it apparently is a common problem. It was turning into a bit of an ordeal for me because AMEX personnel kept telling me to dispute the charges on Paypal, and they didn't understand that the charges are not on my Paypal account whatsoever. Paypal can't do anything because it didn't go through my Paypal account. Talk about a hassle.

A few weeks ago someone was talking about this on here, and I brought up the point that people tend to overreact and worry too much when their CC info is used fraudulently. After all, the CC companies side with the cardholder a 9,999 times out of 10,000 when it's legitimate fraud (apparently there are people who dispute their credit card charges when they feel entitled to a refund of a product - they are douchebags and they don't count)

On Saturday night I was in Savannah, GA on eating dinner on River Street with a smokin' hot southern belle eager to head back to my hotel only to find out my freaking AMEX was declined. Luckily I had cash, but it was still quite embarassing. I immediately called them up (both to save face and find out what was going on) and apparently there is a scam where people steal money from your linked CC using your paypal account. The funny thing is that none of these charges are on my paypal transaction history, so when I called Paypal they had no idea what I was talking about. I was lucky that I had my debit card and was able to check out of the hotel using that, but if I didn't I would have been F'd.

AMEX is overnighting me a new card and reviewing the charges. I should get the money back, but I definitely retract my previous statements about CC fraud not being a big deal. This is the very last time I ever use Paypal. I swore them off last time when some dude I sold a firearm to on ARFCOM disputed his CC charge. Paypal came at me with collections agents and all sorts of drama. He was an idiot though, and the Tarrant County SO took care of me. How are you going to claim you never got an item if you filled out a 4473?

I also stopped by Parris Island on Sunday. Boy am I glad I wasn't in third herd. Do those guys do anything other than PT?
Where were you going to sleep if you didn't hook up with the chick?? In your car?? You buy the room and set up the bar before heading to River Street! You didn't stay at the Thunderbird slum off of Bay Street did you? They used to have rubber machines by the ice machines on each floor! When you check in they ask if you need quarters. Next time you are down come over here to Hilton Head. 99% of the girls in the bars are tourist and have their own rooms!

For God's sake please STHU about AMEX and pay pal and give us some more details about the GA peach.

It has been since the 80s since I was a single guy on the prowl on River Street with drunk horny college girls and stoned, disinhibited SCAD students with rebellion issues I would much rather live vicariously through you right now than here about the credit card stuff.

Pics of said "smokin hot southern belle" please. I really need to go back to Savannah with some buddies and see what kind of "hot southern belles" I can find. I'll remember to leave my AMEX at home though.

Edit: I see you removed the pic

See... I don't feel bad for telling people in the EE section that I don't and will never use PP for online transactions I'm selling. Granted I've purchased through HSP recently, but I've had my fair share of CC fraud.

GH41, I already had the room booked. I just took her back to my place. The issue came upon checkout two days later. I still didn't have an AMEX card to pay with so I had to pay with my debit. I stayed at the Inn at Ellis Square. Pretty crummy, to be honest. But I had a corner room that overlooked the street that had really high ceilings. My room was nice, the hotel was garbage.

Chicks never stay the night man, I know the rules. This is always "my uncle's place" and "I've gotta be out by morning".

Unfortunately, WickedWillis made me feel a bit guilty. I won't put my face out there, so it's not fair to put hers out there.

But trust me, she was hot and her enhancements didn't hurt either.

AMEX finally credited my account, but that was a huge PITA.

They kept telling me to contact Paypal, but it was never on my paypal account so Paypal told me they had no idea what I was talking about and to contact the CC company. It was like doing the "Who's on first" routine with them.

Bottom line: I'll never ever use Paypal again under any circumstances, ever.
