Two quick things. First is that the OP is someone I talk with often and consider a friend so I had no intent to embarrass or belittle him, however he being the father of small children part of me wondered what he could be thinking. We talked about that privately and I have no doubt he just saw the initial humor in it as though it happened out in front of the neighbor's house as opposed to seeing it as having been a carefully scripted portrayal executed by adults who should know better. He is free to disagree but that was the sense I got and if you look at it that way yes it is funny.

Also think that reading this first thing this morning, and then the further update since, just poisoned my day. It's about a woman who was beaten in front of her small child while others watched and filmed. The woman was apparently white and the attacker black. While this is indicative of a troubling trend it also goes to show what the "Do as you want if it feels good" mentality is doing to us as a whole. And yea some may remember that I've been in similar situations in the street so to me this hits a nerve but still if you see it you'll understand where I'm coming from. Violence in front of children and nobody cares, no one will step up. Fair warning because you won't like it so don't watch if you want to remain pleasant for the rest of the evening.
