Right now,
the best buy I have found for fun is the 5.0 GT Mustang. I find it too small for a daily driver, but a great little weekend car.
What is out there for the same price- you can pick them up under invoice? Like I said, a great bang for the buck.
For a daily driver, I actually use the Challenger. It has the size of the old school muscle car like the original Charger, even if it has the name and looks of an old school pony car. A very big coupe, I am not sure what you can get roomier without going to 4 doors. It looses a touch on handling and HP/weight compared to the Camaro and Mustang, but the back seats are usable and the trunk is huge and it rides more comfortable.
Yes. Definitely not an optimal winter car. They tell me that with a set of Blizzaks that it does ok, but I suspect that's more wishful thinking than anything. A 330 HP rear wheel drive with 4 inches of ground clearance just isn't going to work here in Minnesota winter. In the summer, it's an absolute blast and runs rings around those 5.0 Mustangs. It's a fantastic summer daily driver, but mine goes in the back garage in mid- November and comes back out in April.
What if this whole crusade's a charade?
And behind it all there's a price to be paid

I definitely agree on the sports car market. The days of light, agile, minimalist sports cars are over. Porsche releasing their 4 door retardation was the end of an era. I watch every episode of Top Gear and it seems Europe hasn't gone totally stupid yet. They've got tons of 250hp, 2200lb Hatchbacks being designed over there.
I guess we don't have any here because there would be no room for a 64oz Big Gulp.
This is totally ridiculous. People buy cars just to drive them half the year? I can go jet skiing in November - and in February too if I wore a wet suit (I'd probably be a little too warm in a full suit to be honest) At least it keeps the miles down I suppose, but I'd never do it. What's the point? Don't they have those big trucks that dump that stuff on the roads so that you can drive your cars? (Sugar or something?)

It's the same winters that also cause all the retirees, that you love so much, to relocate down by you. Gotta take the good with the bad.
You can keep your "year around" summers. Personally, I think it'd suck & it's certainly nothing to brag about.
