I have several that have a lot of meaning attached to them, but I may have just built a new favorite. Today was the first time out with the rifle and while it is early the results are very promising but time will tell. Accuracy was very good, but with the LW profile I still need to heat it up and do some precision comparison. I will note that with just a single mag (average shooting pace of about 1 sec per round) followed up by a rapid fire 30 round mag, the rifle was extremely hot to handle. This is similar in my own results with the current crop of Lightweight "minimalist", keymod or similar type rails. I have some pretty tough mitts but damn these new LW rails heat up fast and I don't give a crap what others say, they don't "cool down" quickly. It is clear why so many people that I know are going to gloves all of a sudden. I will be running the huge and current "fan favorite" keymod rail very soon and I don't expect much different results as far as heat goes.
As for this current rifle, it ran without a hitch so far. I was more than a bit skeptical with this barrel length with a rifle gas set up, but damn so far it was accurate and boringly reliable. My big take away that it was very "light shooting" in regards to recoil. 16.5" barrel with a rifle length gas, Vltor A5 and a BattleComp and this thing felt like an airsoft rifle. Crazy and I am wondering what the likes of a Titan SJC or similar will produce on this set up.

Surf,
I would like to hear as much as you can stomach telling me of how this set up runs with the various springs and buffers as the testing goes on. This might be my next upper combo, as I really like the idea of a rifle gas set up in a smaller package. So as you test let me know, it will be months before I can start another project because of work. Plenty of time for you to school me. Thanks
ETA: To get back to the thread, my personal favorite if my home project bcm 11.5", Knights rail, spikes lower and A5 RE. Beautiful to me and shoots like a dream

See you soon, AC.
I have limited experience, but I'm very happy with my DDM4V5.
SANY1239.jpgchainsaws 032.jpgOut of all of them, I would have to go with these three old warhorses. Guess it would be sentimental feelings. although my newr one do have more equipment and better optics.
Both Colts, Top is AR -15 A1, Bottom is M-16 A1, second pic Is M-16 A1 Carbine. It looks a little different now. I have put rails and vertical grip and different stock on it.
