My favorite AR is whichever one I'm shooting at the time. They are all just tools to me.

Please don't take that as snooty or condescending. I don't have a favorite socket wrench, laptop or BBQ grill, either. Those are tools as well.

But show me an awesome 1911 from one of the smiths that post their pics here.....that will elicit an appreciative murmur. Comes from being an old fossil, I guess.

Mine. After spending some time with a stag 16" m4 clone, I built this up exactly how I wanted it. I did it while in college, so I made sure I only put stuff on that would make it better in my hands(base on shooting a couple different rifles). Yes it has a PA red dot right now, I'm saving up for a reloader and a Leupold vxr 1.25-4. Brother bought a DD stripped upper for a project and ended up going with a factory gun, and gave me the upper. I then slowly acquired the other parts over a couple years. It's way more accurate than I need, been 100% reliable with NON-crap ammo (short stroke with TULA- which is a good thing ), and I had to eat a lot of eggs to save up $ for it.

All below built by ADCO with White Oak Upper parts kit:
    DD stripped upper
    BCM BCG
    BCM gunfighter
Centurion 14.5" LW CHF bbl (the saw metal, double chromed type fn bbl iirc)
URXIII and knights 300m flip rear
SF prong brake waiting for a silencer to get inside of.
Lower is a build on a mega lower with stag internals(better stuff down the road)
VCAS sling/GS qd, surefire g2 with creed led from TNVC, GS mount since move to top of rail going ejection port side.

Really? Does that mean you shoot every AR the same, or that you don't care how well you're shooting?

    I did catch the joke.

But honestly, it would be sort of like saying you use every golf club the same. I use them differently for different things.

I don't have my stamp yet, but it will be my 12.5" with RIS II and SPR/M4. I have been waiting for a stamp for years now. My favorite working rifle is my 20".

Beyond that everything else is a crap shoot.

    Thumbs up KAC

Have to be my KAC IWS. I like options and this one seems to be pretty damn versitile. It's relatively lightweight, the ambi controls are great, the SOPMOD stock is still to me the most comfortable of them all, the BUIS is simple to use and stays in place when deployed, the URX rail is "dead sexy" (though the Mod 1 looks more comfortable), and I got it in tan which seems to be a versitile color. It was definately a nice turnkey package from Knight's.

I do wish the front sight were more dog-eared. It has that HK roundness to it that I don't prefer.

I thought that was what you were getting at, but you left it somewhat open ended, so I went for it.

I only have two, a 6520 and a 6920. If I had to sell one (which I might have to), I'd have a damn hard time figuring out which one.

My "favorite" is the one that I'm working on now, because it is a combination of parts that I'm picking which reflect my experiences/"needs"/expectations of what my ideal carbine is. Tons of reading, shooting different ARs and configuring my own have helped me narrow down what works for me.
It will have a BCM complete upper with a 14.5" ELW-F BFH/pinned Gunfighter Mod1 (when released), 13" KMR, BCM BCG, fixed DD sights, Aimpoint T2 in a DD mount, Surefire X300U in front of the front sight, BAD ASS safety, Raptor CH, Sionics LPK, B5 Bravo stock (or maybe the new BCM stock when released), BCM Mod 0 grip, Geissele Super V, VLTOR A5 (H2) & 7 position RE, BFG Vickers sling, Sionics LPK and a Aero Precision lower.

That will be my new "go-to" training/practice/HD/SHTF rifle.

Until then, my 16" DD V5 with a PA 1-6x is my favorite. It will be receiving a 13" KMR shortly.

I take your point, but I have a couple of Craftsman socket wrenches and a couple of SnapOns. I have a Macbook and a Dell, and I have an old Weber around here and a Big Green Egg. I most definitely have favorites.
