That was such a fantastic little speech. What a patriot! One of those people you would just like to meet.

But let's say it did. They just leave us alone? Sure.... Now they are impoverished and pissed off and the shieks don't have the money to pay them off or smooth over stuff with money. Sure, we won't be directly dabbling in their business, but these goat molesters will still have the Crusades to b!tch about- and let's nor forget Israel. Gonna just pull the rug out from under them? Maybe you can in 50 years when the whole Nazi thing is a memory of a memory.

The only solution is a 30 Years type war between the Sunni and Shia branches that bleeds them all so dry that they finally figure out it ain't 700AD anymore and move on to the 20th century.

It's either that or they WMD terrorism us so hard that we go full Punic War and Carthage their asses.

The woman is exactly right. By far most Muslims and Arabs are great people and until they get sick of their psycho cousins, they won't be able to keep nice things...
Historically, we have wanted stability in the ME to keep energy prices low. Now, we have enough domestic capacity that regional conflicts are not as economically disruptive. Perhaps introducing a little chaos in the region between Sunni and Shia is a net benefit to the US despite the $3.50+ per gallon. I must say, there is a small, dark corner of my heart that smiles at the notion of supplying both sides enough weapons to perpetuate their shenanigans.

That statement rings loud and true.
Powerful statement indeed and has double meaning for me. When tyranny comes and crushes whole peoples under it's boot heel the "peaceful majority were irrelevant" rings true too. Through out the written histories its always been a small percentage who armed themselves and stood in the gap.

Oh we've been doing that for decades, the "Midwest Weapons Depot" is in reality a clandestine service black site where we have been funneling weapons to just about everyone under the sun at some point.

Maybe one day people will realize the real scandal behind the Benghazi cover up was that we were their scrambling to locate and collect MANPADs that we provided AQ to aid in the toppling of the Gaddafi regime.

Oh, she'll get the KKK treatment alright. In the same way that the left can get away with calling Colion Noir the NRA's porch monkey and chimp they can label an Gabriel for being racist for calling out terrorists for being terrorists.

As already mentioned, she seems to lack consistency in her views, but at least on this day, she seemed dead on to the facts a "small" group of fanatics can and do pose a threat to all those around them, near and far. The problem with fanatics is, you use (via support with arms, money, or other) them for political gain (as so many countries do) at your own peril as like a fast growing cancer, it's out of your control at some point. And then sh%$ gets real ugly real fast.

So why all the opposition to ISIS and the formation of an Islamic caliphate in portions of Syria and Iraq? One of the biggest frustrations in fighting Islamic fanaticism/terrorism is the difficulty in utilizing conventional military means against an enemy embedded within the civilian population of a political state which may or may not be aligned directly with the target groups.

So let the bastards have their caliphate. And make it abundantly clear that the United States will view this newly-formed state as an enemy subject to attack by conventional military means. Folks that choose to live or operate within the borders of this caliphate are classified as either enemy combatants or civilian sympathizers, all subject to being targeted. And there won't be any post-war Marshall Plan this time around.

Because our last FOUR Presidents have lacked these...

Personally I'm all for your idea of letting the ME settle itself, and that includes problems with Israel. But nobody is willing to engage in Rolling Thunder anymore. At best we get a guy like Clinton who tosses a few Cruise missiles their way, at worst we get a guy like Bush who thinks he can rebuild it into Tomorrowland and they will name towns in his honor.
