    LT 150/Aimpoint PRO

Does it matter where in the ring is in relation to the body of the PRO?

Is it personal preference or is their are reason for the body to be in a certain location (say the middle) in relation to the rings?

This is how I have the PRO mounted now (click to enlarge):

That's how I like mine set-up. Recoil isn't really an issue on AR's but I still slide mounts and optics forward to make more contact with attachment point. Recoil then pushes the mount and optic instead of mount and optic clinging on and riding the recoil.

Cool, thanks guys. Google images seemed to have most of the mounts in the middle.

Run mine the same way, furthest forward while still on the receiver.

Be careful not to shove it too hard against the center housing or bell of the scope. There is a slight fillet that most mount rings don't allow for.

Right. Question is about the optic/mount not the mount/receiver though.

    It answered both questions...furthest forward.

Peeps on TOS are trying to say in terms of recoil having the rings closer to the front of the optic is the way to go to mitigate any small effect that recoil may have. That seems counter intuitive to me though.
