Great writeup Jax. I got a cpl. Unity Tactical VFGs, and figured I'd share my initial feedback on them:

1.) Close inspection of both VFGs, along with their packaging, directions, and accompanying hardware: A+

Both VFG models were flawless with no manufacturing defects that I could observe. The product packaging is professional, and classy looking. The included directions were solid, and clearly point out the DO/DON'Ts..especially with the caution orange insert. Hardware is definitely first class, and includes everything one needs to accomplish the job.

    2.) Install onto a M-LOK/T-NUT EMR rail: B

Obviously the design doesn't permit super fast installs like a QD VFG, however total install time for myself was less than 5-10mins, and I was going slow just to ensure proper install. I imagine as I test these on other rails in the coming days, weeks, the installs will go much faster/easier.

** the primary reason I grade this aspect a B instead of a low A is because of the yellow threadlocker that comes on the screws. I equally grade magpul pistol grips the same way due to the difficulty I find often screwing them in w/ the yellow threadlocker. That said it's kinda a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation given once installed thread locker makes lots of sense on both the Unity Tactical VFG, and Magpul grips. Ultimately I burned most of it off, and once that was done, install was a breeze.

3.) Lockup, profile/weight, and overall feel once installed: A -

First and foremost I'm very confident in how well this grip locks up once installed. Considering it's uber LW, it mounts rock solid for sure.

Secondly, it's streamlined as hell....just what the end user demands when going with a direct attach accessory. Again it's perfectly flush fit once installed.

Thirdly, it's actual profile size in the hand, and it's super lightweight make it honestly the perfect size for a vfg imho. Truly feels exceptional with a thumb over grip. The weight of the grip adds what feels like nothing to the end of your rail.

*** Reason for receiving an A- rather than an A+ is due to the actual texture of the VFG's grip. While personally I don't immediately feel the need to break out my stipple gun, it does seem a bit slick. No big deal, but that's the only reason I graded it slightly lower than I otherwise would have in that category.

Suggestions: Very little, personally I would think about a different threadlocking solution, as well as texture pattern.

Optional: A trap door for holding beef jerky, and lube

    Overall Grade: 3.7 / 4

These work excellent for Geissele SMR MK1 & MK2 model rails.

For the MK1, the VFG simply screws into a location, doesn't get any better than that in my book. 15-30sec install time.

For the MK2, you just slide the provided backer nut down inside the rail's "shelve", and into a position, then just screw the VFG into the backer nut. 1min. install time.

Nice! Would it work with the threaded inserts that come with the MK2? Also, does it seem to be as strong a set up as, say a Magpul RVG mounted to a picatinny section?

As an aside, I'm so in love with your old school MK2. The big anti rotation wings and straight lightening holes make it look so cool, not that I don't appreciate the weight savings mine has since it's a bit of a beast anyway.

    Thanks Jax

TF82: I agree, my favorite Geissele rails are the originals. Definitely heavier, but also more bombproof. Haven't tried the RVG so I can't comment on that question.

The Unity Tactical VFG will indeed work perfectly fine using the Geissele provided slide nuts as referenced in the pic below.

This VFG fits perfect on the original ALG EMR rails as well, and one can also use the EMR's slide nuts if desired.

TRIDENT82, thanks for the reply and the photos to go with it. Being able to screw this into the MK2 slide nut makes it pretty appealing. It seems like that may provide an even more stable base than the provided backer.
