Alright, cut the screw down by about 3/16" and decided to move the VFG slightly forward using the backer nut in a slot rather than the threaded mounting hole. Screw clears the underside of the barrel by about 3/32" now, which I think should be enough to avoid any problems. Can't imagine the barrel would be flexing by that much under heavy use.

Love this VFG. Rock solid, perfect length. Really like the overall package coupled with the slim (1.5") diameter of this handguard. Also love the way the VFG countours to the handguard without large gaps, really nice, smooth transition. Very comfortable.

Also, here's a pic of the Unity Tactical handstop, which I thought was being released at the same time as the VFG. You'll have to ask the UT guys about that one...

Awesome pics and feedback guys, thanks. We tested on a lot of rail systems and tried to make it as universal as possible, but obviously we couldn't test them all. The feedback really helps since we get a lot of does it fit ________ questions.

The handstop is definitely still in the works, although we have a few other products to work through first based on demand we've received.

It fits very well and is rock solid on the CMR. My only reservation is I had gotten used to a wider foregrip. I'm not worried about the texture since I wrap my hand around the handguard anyway. I'd rather the finish be less shiny, but that's pretty minor.

Mine arrived yesterday morning, absolutely ideal. Exactly what I wanted and glad I waited for it over the BCM. Fits my hand and preferred positioning on my 9" KMR better than any other solution I've tried in the past.

Just got mine today, looks good, mounts fine to Noveske NSR.

One thing I did change was to sand all the smooth untextured areas with heavy 30 grit sandpaper - I found the big smooth areas on the side to be too slippery and slick. The rough sanded texture is perfect and only took a few minutes. I suppose you could solderiron some texture too, but this was fast and easy. This also obviously gets rid of the glossy shine.

I received mine the other day. I like the versatility of being able to directly mount it to a wide range of rails. The quality is great. However, it is very slick. I'm not sure why some sort of texture wasn't a priority. I normally use cut down magpul vfg's and in my opinion they don't NEED to be stippled. The unity tactical vfg however NEEDS to be stippled or sanded as mentioned above. If you don't mind spending the time stippling then it's not a big deal. I have absolutely no desire to spend time stippling. I'll try what Grunz mentioned in his post and hit it with some sandpaper. I just think it should be noted to anyone considering this grip that they should know some user modification is pretty much a must. This is just my opinion of course.

Works on the LaRue PredatAR hand guard (smaller screw, direct threaded) and the Mega monolithic (also the smaller screw, direct threaded ).
I'm very pleased with this thing!!

Before you suggest that licensing, background checks, or other restrictions for the 2nd Amendment are reasonable... Apply those same ideas to the 1st and 4th Amendments. Then tell me how reasonable they are.

Very comfy on 13" KMR. Works well for both thumb over/light button and palm up behind grip. I was a little worried at how much torque it took on the screw to eliminate wobble. But it's tight and fits like it was OEM.

Looks good fellas. Thanks for the feedback on how it mates up with different handguards.

I agree the texturing could be a little more aggressive but I texture pretty much anything I use any way with a soldering iron or skater tape so no biggie to me at all. I did do a stipple job on the VFG and it does help a bit. This took all of 15 minutes:

Beat it up pretty good on some barricades this weekend & it has held up fine so far.

I did a quick comparison of the BCM and Unity VFGs.
