I think the total from McMaster-Carr ended up being $80-85 with shipping. One item came a few days later so two shipping charges were incurred. Basically, for the price of a LPK, one can be pretty well set up for life with the various roll pins and screws to properly maintain their AR (their buddy's too).

White Oak Armaments offering of single LPK items was enticing enough to me that I was able to round out my parts bin for a few hundred dollars. Items such as: every spring, bolt catch and plunger, buffer retainer, magazine catch and release, various detents, and a few gas tubes in the carbine and mid-length variety. Not only can repairs be made, but I essentially have a few LPK's to use should the need arise. The value meal way of ordering lower and upper parts appeals so much to me, because I already have a pile of mil-spec triggers and pivot/take down pins, and now a lifetime of roll pins. I looked at the various options of repair kits from Brownells, but every one of them had more of the items I didn't need so much and fewer items that I actually needed.

I notice that the Gas Tube pin stock number that IG provided corresponds to a coiled spring pin not just a slotted spring or "roll" pin. Is there a reason to use that instead of a std slotted spring or "roll" pin? If it's a superior part, I'm cool with that but just wanted clarification as I've not had problems with the std pins. Thanks!

I check the ejector pin and spring when I check the head space. Which is infrequently.

    Thanks for the info Iraqgunz.

Great minds think alike. I ended up doing the same thing. I need to get some of those handy parts organizer boxes like IG had.

Are those boxes of 500 roll pins the smallest sizes they sell? I haven't looked at the website yet, that just seems like an excessively large amount of each size.

I have some like those here at the house.

I was thinking about something like these for the range box:
