First and only build.. opinions welcome....

Hi.. finally got accepted thought I'd share my scratch build with everyone; has been an ongoing process bit by bit since october.\

https://imageshack.com/i/ip000ce8j ( would not let me upload direct image link nor upload from desktop ><)

    Aero Precision stripped lower
    RRA lower parts kit
    ALG ACT trigger by Geisele
Spikes 2H heavy buffer with Colt 17-7 stainless buffer spring
Magpul Moe grip and enhanced trigger guard with Magpul ACS stock mil spec tube painted with krylon fusion camo OD
    BCM mod 4 charging handle

Stag 2H full upper chrome lined with Midwest industries BUIS and chrome BCG 1:9 twist
Vortex Strikefire with a low mount and truglo riser set at 1/3 cowitness ( battle sight zero to 300m) ( Aimpoint or ACOG coming soon)
Knights Armament KAC carbine system ( free and better than old magpul MOE grip) with ladder rails kryloned to match and KAC vertical foregrip ( plan to upgrade cuz its way too wobbly)
el cheapo tri rail F-post mount to hold el cheapo 500 lumen strobe light ( my grip does not like having a light on a handgaurd)

I'm very happy with this since its my baby and that I raised it from the ground up rather than go buy- not too hard to build one.. and over time its easy for everyone to do it. Im always in the realm of upgrade as I think everyone that shoots is lol.. would like solid opinions on what I have already.. with 55 grain .223 it drives tacks out to 200m with red dot and hits gongs at 300 with little effort.. I'm proud to have built rather than buy!

thank you for letting me be a part of the group!

Hrmmm.... Purpose for the build (range toy, varminting, home defense)?

You've got a mixture of good with some not as good but usage will determine if you are going to be hampered in your intentions. One thing I personally would change is to get the VFG a little further out on the rail. for more control when you are moving the muzzle from target to target.

    And Welcome to the forum

thanks bro.. i dont consider myself a single purpose individual... the VFG is there only because it came with the set.. and it feels decent on CQB. my forehand would be out which is why i only threw a 2/3 rail attach on it. ive had the vfg at the front on my last and honestly this time its not meant for that since I couldnt clear any type of post the first time around for long range.
I hear ya tho.. vfg stays where it is or i can always take it off and use the magwell for a grip; this is my only thing besides my pistol and im not doing different builds to accommodate what I need at any given time.... waste of money for me tbh...

if you would be so kind to elaborate what is as you say.. "not so good" I would be so humble.. thanks

The Stag barrel at 1:9 might not stabilize a lot of the heavier defensive rounds.

what about just running 55 grain through it? and have no need to run heavier other than to run the ACOG i plan to get thats 62 grain. or an aimpoint or anything...the ACS is stable IMO cuz its heavier than most stocks minus the UBR so the weight of the stock helps out alot on stabilization- just my opinion tho.. keep em coming

The 1x9 is fine for 55g and many are quite happy with 62g through them as well. Capital letters are also recommended at the beginning of sentences.

    Welcome aboard.

this is not a discussion of what it can shoot through cuz its fed everything from TULA wolf fiochi and the high end stuff over 2000 rounds so far without cleaning or lubing.. its dirty and still gets the job done. my inquiry is not on its ability at all because I know what it does; just inquiring what you think about the build itself; Im quite curious tho on the point of ppl saying whats it purpose... well it has 1 purpose..- point and click. nuff said on that.

Again, welcome to the forum. Looking forward to your positive participation in the future and don't forget to see how it shoots quality 5.56.

I see a lot of comments here with a preference to a 1:7 twist barrel.. that doesnt work well vs 55 grain ammo at all; i don't use 5.56 because .223 is cheaper and not much difference in ballistics at all on it.
