    Service Breakdown

Given another thread I was wondering how the respective branches of active and retired military personel stack up.

    USN - HM3 0000/8404 3rd MARDIV - Jungle Warfare/Survival Instructor - Northern Training Area, Okinawa; 4th MAR HQ/RAS (TOWs); 2nd MARDIV - 1/8 HQ/BAS, 2/10 HQ/BAS

I spent 8 years in the Navy. I was in two A-6 squadrons (VA-65 and VA-42) and stationed onboard the USS Enterprise CVN-65 for 3.5 years.

When I left the Navy I was an AZ1 but I spent most of my time working with the various maintenance and inventory software and database systems. I even wrote a program to track over $128 million dollars worth of equipment that COMNAVAIRLANT gave to every carrier in the fleet and all I got was a Navy Achievement Medal. Gee...thanks

    Heh...sounds about right.

I took an entire regiment's medical records (which failed an IG inspection at 27%readiness and made the regiment non-deployable) and brought it up to 97% readiness inside of 2 months.

    No one even said "thanks."
