Scroll down to # 31 (am I reading it wrong?)
31 All 50 states exempt their own on-duty police officers from statutes governing the right to carry concealed weapons. A majority of states allow within their borders other states' peace officers to carry concealed weapons if on official business. Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and Vermont allow on and off-duty out-of-state officers to carry concealed weapons. California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Vermont, and Wyoming allow carry-concealed permits or rights for retired officers.
Fox News reporter Emily Miller is reporting via social media that Washington DC Police Chief Lanier just announced that Washington DC Police will not arrest any non-prohibited person carrying a firearm, regardless of where they reside, and that the only firearm arrests they will make are DC residents possessing unregistered firearms, prohibited persons possessing firearms, and NFA violations.
So, pretty much the Washington DC Police Chief just declared "constitutional carry" in Washington DC.

Thanks for the link to the post articles, on the other hand Washington Times reported on the 27th: Officer Paul Metcalf, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department, said he was unsure how the department was handling enforcement of gun laws while the city decided on its legal strategy.
Based on the post article, one would assume Lanier has made a decision.
I'd actually be interested to know what, if anything, has really changed in DC since the Heller case for the average person seeking a permit. It was my understanding DC more or less ignored it and went on as biz as usual making it essentially impossible for people to get a permit to have a gun in their home. I'd be interested to know more about that in terms of what real effects Heller had on DC's citizens access to fire arms. DC still has no CCW permits for DC residents correct?
Has gun sales in DC gone up sharply since Heller and what BS hoops do they make people jump through to get it if so?
Anyone speak to that or have link to such?

These are the same folks that were arresting people for being in possession of spent brass no?

Thanks for the Fox video: Emily is a frequent guest on one of the local conservative talk-shows and I love her.
Surprised she didn't mention the 10 round limit, so if you carry in DC, don't forget 10 rounds max. MD board is buzzing with offers to plug your magazine for $15.![]()
