    UPDATE: AAR

Yesterday I had a chance to use my VCOG for the first time in a day-long training class. We were doing a lot of different drills and maneuvers at various distances and I found the reticle easy to capture each time when I shouldered the rifle. The four inch eye relief is, again, a big plus. I played around with various magnifications to see how it felt running it at various levels of magnifications. It was great.

I had it mounted on my DDM4V7 a good part of the day and the weight was not intolerable or irritatingly heavy. It only felt a bit heavier than my other M4 with an Eotech and 3x magnifier on it.

Optics nice and bright and clear, in/out of shade, etc.

I definitely am going to get the flip up caps for the optic, I don't feel comfortable with all that glass just kind of "hanging out there" when not in use. I'm also a bit surprised it did not come with the same kind of cover that the ACOGS come with.

Good reviews, are you planning on shooting at distance? I am interested in how the BDC works at 300yd and farther, considering it's made for 77gr ammo.

Though if I get a VCOG I'd choose the 55gr reticle.
It is from the construction of underground FEMA camps. I can't say more because there a guy parked in front of house in an AMC Pacer. He is acting like he talking on the phone, but I know better.

I have to sign off now & put my laptop in the microwave.

Yes, the place where I do most of my shooting has a long range rifle range, out to 750 yards. I'm waiting to pick up 77 grain ammo to give it a really good test, under the conditions it was specifically designed for. Will post up an update when I do.

I'm getting great results with the 77gr reticle using 55 grain bullets at closer ranges at this point.

The other thing I forgot to mention, is that I am installing a Geissele trigger group into the DDM4V7 I have the VCOG on, looking forward to a more precise shooting experience. The Milspec trigger is a bit of a beast.

Considering that the OP is now banned, I would not hold your breath for further updates.

I didn't see that. That being said, is the segmented circle or horseshoe more suited for longer engagements? Thanks.

Damn I was looking forward to his further evaluations.

I have a VCOG if you have any questions let me know. So far I am a fan, I have shot out to 300 yards (this is furthest I have access to) and it does well. I have ran both 55gr and 77gr 5.56. I wish I could find more affordable 77gr at a $1 pop it starts adding up but it prints quite a bit better.
