NYC Mayor DeBlasio Caves To Sharpton In Shameful Fashion After Threat

This is a contradiction to the initial autopsy report stating there was no damage to his throat and comes immediately after Sharpton threatened to become the mayor's "worst enemy" if justice wasn't served. What a f**king joke, the cops are going to hate this weak scumbag forever. Pure extortion.

If you haven't heard the story a tall, overweight asthmatic black man who was a chronic offender was asked to place his hands behind his back for selling illegal cigarettes and refused. He was put in a chokehold briefly out of necessity and died shortly thereafter due to what was deemed heart failure.

"The Medical Examiner’s office said Friday that a Staten Island man who died in police custody was killed by a cop’s chokehold — and ruled the death a homicide.

Eric Garner, 43, died of “compression of neck (choke hold), compression of chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police,” the ME said in a statement announcing autopsy results.

The office said the 350-pound Garner’s poor health, including “acute and chronic bronchial asthma; obesity; hypertensive cardiovascular disease,” were “contributing conditions” to his death."

Sharpton effectively pooh-poohed the meaning of de Blasio’s move against stop-and-frisk by saying, in effect, there was no difference between it and the “broken windows” approach of enforcing the laws against small crimes, such as Garner’s illegal sale of cigarettes.

“Given the data that we see in terms of these broken-windows kind of operations, it’s disproportionate in the black and Latino community,” Sharpton claimed, using exactly the same language he and others used about stop-and-frisk.

For example, he said, “If Dante wasn’t your son, he would be a candidate for a chokehold.”

In other words, to Sharpton and others like him, the problem is not lawlessness but law enforcement.

Sharpton said he would not be satisfied with “window-dressing.” Here was his stark warning to the mayor: “If we’re going to just play spin games, I’ll be your worst enemy.”

Those two douche bags deserve each other. I feel for the NYPD on this one as they will be thrown under the bus.

It's amazing to me how people look at that situation and blame it on the police. He was breaking the law, he was asked to comply, he chose to not. There was one person that was 100% able to avoid the situation, and it that case it was the decedent

Forgive my ignorance, but did the ME change his story or was his ruling that the choke hold caused the heart attack consisted from the beginning?

Don't get me wrong, the guy broke the law and just as importantly he didn't give DeBlasio his fare share of the profits, so he had to know he was going to get busted. If he had any brain cells he would have gone to jail for a few hours and been back on the street selling more stuff before the sun went down. The snippet of video I saw showed one cop holding him in a choke hold while another was pushing his head down onto the ground and another few dog piling on him trying to get cuffs on him. Now Im sure there is more to it than that, but its still odd that a guy who didn't appear to be threatening anyone ended up dead. Accidental... definitely as I dint see anything in the snippet that looked like they meant to hurt him. All in all a guy is dead because of a retarted tax... SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS.

Here's a good insight into how delusional they are. Just had to do a piece on this for a class I'm taking.

Most assuredly it was accidental. However, NYPD has banned chokeholds since 1993, so he gets to pay the consequences for his actions as well.

    So,
    a guy is dead,
a man is going to lose his job maybe go to prison for the rest of his life,
other LEOs may get thrown under the bus,
because a guy was selling some cigarettes under the table?

Sure, the guy was breaking the law but if you are scrounging a few bucks selling cigarettes, are a chronic offender, and in such poor medical condition-
you are probably borderline retarded at best.
