EXPLODING BULLETS!

Yes, this is a 80's vigilante movie wet dream. JHP ammo with exploding primers in them for ULTIMATE DEVASTATION. Just like shooting somebody with a grenade I tell ya.

Absolutely no idea where I got this stuff or when, just came across a box full of circa 1983 stuff and that would be about the time I grabbed my RPB M-11. Probably so I could have a M-11 with exploding bullets for when those damn Russkies decided to show up.

Anyone have any idea when these were actually made and if they have any collector value at all? I'm guessing these came home with me from a gunshow.

Wait! You mean that the primer in the hollow point was something that a company actually offered and not just something crazy in a garage would load up?

There were a couple companies that made similar offerings, the one that first comes to mind is the "Devastator" which IIRC was sold in 6 round blister packs similar to Glaser Safety Slugs. Those were the bullets Hinkley used to shoot Reagan, though the only one that supposedly "worked" was the one that struck Brady (at least according to some of the press reports).

I think these were developed/marketed towards Air Marshals originally, but I do not know if they were used by them before someone saw money in commercial sales. I have no idea about value.

Careful.

They are so dangerous and effective a handful of states actually made their possession a felony.

I think they increase the violent crime and death rate tenfold for entire city blocks around them.
