When I was a young'n, I recall hearing about "Black Rhinos" that were exploding bullets. Keep in mind I'm talking being 10yo or so in the late 80's and knowing nothing about guns and talking to other 10yo's who knew slightly more than I did. I had no idea they actually made them. I've heard of people making exploding bullets by filling hollow point cavities with primers topped with a BB and sealed with superglue. Apparently all you hear is and extra "Snap!" when the bullet hits something hard.
BTW, Simo Häyhä took an exploder to the lower left jaw and lived!
