    M&P 45 w silencer

I've done some searching but couldn't find a definitive answer. Will the stock m&p 45 full sized do well with a Silencerco Osprey? Anyone have some experience with this setup? I read on another website that someone was having a lot of issues with finding a correct RSA kit. I would think the standard spring would be fine. Can anyone speak to this? Thanks all.

Tagged for interest. I've been thinking about the same pistol/suppressor combo.

I have this exact setup. When you order the Osprey, get the piston with threads that match your barrel. The default piston is threaded metric, this does not work with Storm Lake barrel. Sorry, don't know those specs off top of my head. Silencerco was cool and let me exchange them, but it was an extra week or so on top of 7 months of BATF waiting.

I really wish KKM made a M&P 45 threaded barrrel. I have not had good luck with Storm Lake. I bought a Glock 20 barrel to replace the Glock OEM (to provide a more supported chamber for hot reloads).

The chamber in the SL was soo tight that I couldn't drop a factory round into the barrel, it would go half way and get stuck (this was confirmed with different brand factory loads and my presonal handloads). I ended up returning the barrel and picking up a KKM.

Interesting, I just bought a Storm Lake threaded barrel for my M&P 45, we shall see. I spoke with someone from Silencerco today and he said that the Storm Lake barrel should be fine to fit on the Osprey, he said my dealer should have the correct piston size (standard threads) to fit the silencer.

In yalls experience have you actually had to do any "fitting" with the Storm Lake barrel or is it a true drop in??

My Glock 20 SL barrel was drop in, it just had a crazy tight chamber.

No Osprey but my TiRant 45 works fine on my M&P45 (factory threaded barrel) with no mods.

Storm Lake match grade threaded barrel came in today, fit & finish is great. Doesn't look like any hand fitting or sending back will be needed. Nice tight tolerances and the round fits in the chamber no problem. On the box it says the threads were made to match AAC & Silencerco. I am happy so far, just patiently waiting for my Osprey now

Nice. I have the mid-size version of that gun and a Ti-Rant, I'm just waiting around for an extra $250 to be laying around to dedicate to one of the few mid-size threaded barrels out there. It's doing good duty on my G19 until then.
