I know! I'll tone these attacks down I guess.
Back on topic.... I did find, of all things, a STEEL Front sight. But it's made by DPMS. I'm going to try a couple fixed variants.
I haven't yet tried to mod the knob on the LMT sight. I was even at the hardware store and forgot about the project.

This fixed front sight is made out of 7075 T6 aluminum instead of 6061-T6 aluminum and the profile of the ears look they *might* not bend as easily as some others.

Looking at that thing... I don't know. The vertical walls under the top pic rail are pretty thin, and it's got a lot of holes machined there too. I compared it to other rails I have and it's the thinnest/weakest in that area by far.
I bent the rail back to a decent straightness where I can get an iron sight zero pretty close to mechanical. But I'm not sure about the integrity of it now. I might get pics and sent them to ESK to see if he thinks it's toast or what. In other words... is the material now weakened to where it'll bend too easily now?

Is the LMT aluminum as well?

Yeah. That's the LMT. Damn... I've still got to make it to the hardware store and try to mod one of these to get rid of the knob.
I actually had to move my light back on the rail to get it to work for the short term.
