The A5H3 buffer is heavier than the A5H2 that is sent with the A5 until.. Depending on what your shooting and the components you should have no issues.
Got the same and it runs problem free.

I just had the opportunity to shoot my 14.5 Noveske build with a A5 and it ran great. Dropped 500 rds through it myself and had a few others shoot nothing but positive feed back.

Edit: I used a mixture of ammo including some freedomunitions .223 reman and assortment of different 5.56.

I've put maybe 500 through my 14.5 BCM middy with the included buffer and Springco Green Spring. Brass and steel both ran perfect, I'm looking forward to trying out the lighter buffers.

I did shoot my 14.5 BCM middy with a A5 R/E. Initially using the standard A5H2 and Green Springco, I experienced my very first shot, spent casing did not clear the ejection port causing a malfunction. I recall it feeling very odd and the rest of my zero and test had no malfunctions, however the action seemed sluggish.

I put a A5H0 buffer with the factory Vltor spring and using Remington .223, zero malfunctions. I ran about 50 rounds. Felt recoil was soft and empties were about 4' at 4 o'clock. I thought I had some XM193 in my stash….but it must have been in another bag.

I plan to put another 100 rounds, then qual with it.

I run the A5 on a Noveske 16" mid-length with Wolff spring and Slash stainless A5H3 buffer. No problems with low powered AE223 or stronger loads.

I will never build another AR without the A5 system.

Just returned from a function test and zeroing my new bcm 16" middy upper. The lower it will be mounted on has an A5 kit with about 1k through it. Standard rifle spring and A5H3 buffer. I found that this combo would lock back on tula 55gr. Of course ymmv

I was suprised it locked back with as much force as it did. I have a green spring I can try out in it as well. Im just pleased I don't have get an A5H2 to get it running.

Just returned from a function test and zeroing my bcm BFH LW 16" middy upper. The lower it is mounted on was upgraded with an A5 kit, A5 spring and swapped in the A5H4 buffer. I found that this combo would lock back on XM193 55gr. Of course ymmv

I was surprised it locked back with as much force as it did. I have all the A5 buffers thinking that I would start with the A5H4 and step down until it functioned, but it ran right off the bat with the heaviest buffer. I'm just not sure where to go from here.

EDIT: I checked my ejection chart, brass was hitting between 3:30 and 5, so it may have been short stroking slightly. As I said it didn't have any trouble locking back that I noticed. I'm going to clean it up and try again with the A5H3 and see where the brass ends up.

How was the recoil with that combo?

I don't think I'm qualified to make a pronouncement on recoil, the previous setup was Sprinco Blue with an H2 and that's all I have really shot before. Neither setup was unmanageable.

It's probably due to the mass from the A5H4 recoiling back into you. A regular A5H2 might not recoil quite as hard... YMMV.

If that doesn't work, you might try an adjustable gas block? It's not typically needed on a mid-length, but you never know.
