    Who likes FAL's?

Who here also has a soft spot in their heart for the Fusil Automatique Leger?

The very first one I owned was a Springfield Armory SAR-48 Israeli Heavy Barrel version....great rifle but a little heavy for what it was...a semi auto toy.

Through the years I've also owned a Springfield SAR-48 Para, FN 50:00, a smith-built StG-58 on an Imbel receiver, and factory DSA StG-58A "kit" rifles. I honestly think the DSA rifles are every bit as good as the FN and Springfield.

I love the FAL. Smooth shooting, decently accurate, and very reliable with different types of ammo.

The wookie with the current FAL....DSA StG-58A.....

I love the FAL! I've been shooting my DSA carbine and can't believe how much fun it is. I've also picked up a kit and want to build one soon. I'm just looking for a DSA or Imbel receiver.... Gotm4? Anyone?

I have two. One is one of the first DSA guns when they were bringing in the receivers from Argentina. Mine is a L/E Congo and had a full rail system on the forend with an M900 and an Aimpoint on a DSA HD railed top cover..

I also have a a honest to gosh real FN Para Fal. Sorry, they are night and day as far as how they feel. The DSA is a good rifle, but the real FN is very smooth and you can feel the difference the second you rack the action.

If anybody needs one of the DSA top covers that is receased and cut for mounting a ACOG directly onto the top cover, let me know. It is a great unit that I used to use on my DSA with a TA11 until I needed the TA11 for another build.

I had a DSA SA58 carbine which was my favorite rifle and which was every bit as good as any FN I ever saw or shot. I only sold it because changing the manual of arms from the AR to the FAL and back again was too confusing for me to do under pressure.

I've been thinking of getting a Para Fal, then I see the "SCAR"
For a battle rifle, I think the FAL is on top.

The topic of this should be "who doesn't like FAL's". Considering the three major NATO battle rifles (FAL, G3/CETME, M-14) that served IMO the FAL is by far the best of the lot with the G3 a close second.

I have a 'franken-FAL' that is a great shooter and very accurate. I can wait for the civilian SCAR-H.

I used to have a L1A1 Canadian kit with an Imbel receiver I bought in '94 before the AWB and added US made parts in the late 90's (sold it in '01).

I like the way it handles and the way it's controllable in a rapid fire rate better than my former Springfield M1A.

I might get another, a DSA this time after I completed my AR build projects.
    YMMV
