I'm not usually one to suffer from paranoia, but just think about that.... 2 shops (engraver & barrel cutter) have pretty much every piece of info about you.. Your name, your address, your ssn, then your schedule A detailing exactly how many and what specific NFA items you have located at said address.

    No thank you!

In my case, it was just a dot but I sleep well at night knowing that my engraved lower matches my ATF paperwork EXACTLY. Some don't worry so much about details. I have a serious doubt that the ATF hires those types of people.
I just send the lower off to be engraved while the paperwork is cooking at ATF and don't worry about the dots. I sleep just fine.

I'm sure that there's nothing wrong with the way you do it. It's just unnecessary.

What is the point of this discussion and drama? Do it in whatever order you want. It's your SBR, your paperwork, your problem. If it's fu**ed up in the process, fix it.

I am a nitpicker. I thrive on details.
If there is a "dot" or "the" or an "a" in my FORM 1, I would want the exact identification on my engraved lower, until such time I am doing my own engraving. I would make every effort to make sure there are no discrepancies. Having said that, I really wouldn't sweat it too much until such time I hear of a case (proven and documented, and first hand) where someone got into serious or even ANY trouble with ATF over such errors.
Of course that alone is no reason to be sloppy or careless with the effort but I really don't believe it is as big a deal as we make it out to be.

People in this thread need to chill out with the bickering and the drama. If you cannot do that, don't post. And don't keep poking the bear, either.

Only warning some of you are going to get before summer vacations from this website begin.

I would normally follow your advice Jer. The sudden reappearance of the eForm 1 changed all of that though. I jumped on the opportunity to submit. I was waiting for form 1 to return for months. There were around 600 submissions the first day. That means around 350+/- (accounting for multiple submissions) people submitted requests. The request were probably spur of the moment like mine was since I was waiting to execute. There are probably a butt load of guys that haven't engraved their info yet.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass. Has anyone asked an ATF person about the agency's concern pertaining to engraving detail? I have had limited dealings with the ATF, but my few experiences were positive. They were helpful when I was in the process of moving a sub from one state to another. As a group, we are law abiding citizens with zero criminal history. This fact should mean a lot. Am I their fan boy? Definitely not.

And you need to read the post where I told everyone to chill out, and to also go read your PM's.

We are done here, since people seem to have issues with reading and following directions.
