NJ Man Flies ISIS Flag From His Home!

A New Jersey man has raised a flag that is causing concern among his neighbors.

The man recently hung what some neighbors called an ISIS flag outside his home in Garwood. When a picture was posted onto Twitter, neighbors on Winslow Place called the police.

The flag, which is used by an Islamic extremist group responsible for violence in Iraq, has since been removed from display. Even so, neighbors still wonder why the flag was there to begin with.

PIX11 has confirmed the flag was on display at the home for at least three weeks.

The man told NJ.com that he has flown the flag outside his home during Ramadan and on Fridays for about 10 years. It has never been a problem, he said, until a photo of it was posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
    Swell....

Now now, Lindsey Graham did say ISIS "is" coming to America. Time to take away more of your rights.
"If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen"

    Much better article.
The Winslow Place resident, Mark Dunaway, 44, told NJ.com he has flown the flag for at least 10 years during Ramadan and on Fridays when he goes to mosque without issue, until the photo of his home was posted on Twitter by @Marc_Leibowitz...

"I understand now that people turn on CNN and see the flag associated with jihad, but that's not the intention of that flag at all," Dunaway said. "It says 'There is only one god, Allah, and the prophet Muhammad is his messenger.' It's not meant to be a symbol of hate. Islam is all about unity and peace. I am not a part of any group like that, and I'm not anti-American. I love my country, but I am a Muslim."

Dunaway said when Garwood police spoke to him Tuesday, he had no idea a photo of his home was on Twitter and he removed the flag voluntarily given the public concern...

"Tomorrow it might be an L.A. Kings flag," Dunaway said, adding that he often rotates them. "Every Muslim uses that black flag. You'll find it in any mosque in world. I am an American citizen and I love my country, but I am also a Muslim and I use that flag to say I’m a Muslim."

This reminds me of Hitler and the Swastika.

Dunaway said he is unsure if he will fly the flag again.

"I’m hesitant to fly it now considering it has caused so much trouble, which I don’t understand," Dunaway said. "I would love to fly it again on Friday. I hope this situation goes away."
I think his best course of action would be standing it down for the time being, as for the alarm of his neighbors, perhaps he should consider the news cycle of the previous two weeks as a good starting point....

    Or the Confederate Battle Flag.

The important thing to consider is the actual meaning of the flag; not that some group of idiots has hijacked it. What if ISIS flew a US flag just to piss us off. Would you report me for flying the same flag ISIS?

People need to actually start using the grey crap between their ears for something other than a counter weight.

I agree with you in principal and would definitely have an adverse reaction to the flag, personally. However, I also dig the 1st Amendment and think people should be able to fly the Confederate flag if they so choose, just like the Mexicans and countless other sporting their colors.

I think you're covered as long as everyone knows about your angst towards your fellow man.
