The fact that David Cameron cut his vacation short to get back to his job (before our president even made a comment) as G.B. Prime Minister speaks volumes of how concerned they are that the ISIS guy had a British accent.

Let's say Foley was captive but not hugely abused. Then we bomb them and run a rescue mission where no one was home.... well not no one... but those that were home simply failed to keep a good look out. IOW, they knew we were coming and afterwards to prove a point they fly a guy out of London for this 'message'. So not only is their intel good but they are able to move freely in our back yard so to speak.

Is that too far fetched? Because I don't see the general public really caring about this beyond oh maybe lunch time tomorrow which means it's probably just as likely to get worse before it gets better.

So is it possible this situation is being mis-reported. It's not a story about a reporter, it's a story about how well organized ISIS is outside the desert. IOW, is the desert the point of easy killing while the real issue is on friendly soil? If that is the case or even if it can become the case I damn sure hope we have some really well trusted guys under cover. I just don't see Mosque to Mosque interrogations happening in America. Maybe they can pull it off in the UK, France, Spain, or somewhere like that but that's going to go over like a lead balloon here.

Or do I need to loosen up my tin foil again?

ETA: btw,, when I say not about a reporter,, I am in no way down playing Foley's death or that it glossed over... only asking is there another aspect here that maybe his death is actually a facet of and not the 'whole deal'.
Given the 3 to 5 hundred brits that are estimated to be over there, and given he amount of british educated muslems from the former empire, I'd be surprised that it was a special trip. He is probably on his "study abroad" program from his home in the east end of London. Hope his day of reckoning is coming...

If a large number of people are willing to kill you for saying something, then it probably really needs to be said. .

Here is the basic psychological disconnect of the average dumbshit. They truly believe if they take the time to understand those who "hate them", and treat them fairly and with consideration, that they will be afforded the opportunity to explain themselves and how they aren't "typical Americans" and people won't hate them any more.

And they believe this right up until the point they are taken hostage and sometimes beyond. Their narcissism simply won't accept that entire groups of people hate them, because in their mind they are a great guy.

By contrast when vicious, unevolved, fanatics hate me...that's when I know I'm doing something right.
    Yup, correct on all accounts.

Same here... I just heard an interview from a guy who supposedly is in the know on this ordeal. Works at Heritage foundation. Retired Marine. He said they also have about 24 and I can't remember if he said Turks but 24 other hostages not including the other American.

I couldn't hear his whole interview but he seems to think that Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iran and the US could align and wipe them out but it will take people on the ground living among them to pull it off... along with our tactics being applied now.

I -think- his name may have been Duffy? They may post a podcast but the radio host today is a sub and might not post his show, I'm not sure. Anyway, he sounded like he had a good knowledge of the ordeal. I would have liked to hear the whole thing.

I just wish that while the attention is on them that several fronts will come together to wipe them out in short order.

The sooner we and our adversaries set aside our differences to exterminate ISIS, the sooner we can get back to killing each other.

First we need to re-establish our human intelligence network, so we can fight anyone who threatens us effectively.

Amazing. Sad thing is that dipshit really would bring a bunch of them to NY to stand trial on the tax payers dime.

And me. My statement was made in earnest.

As they say, politics makes for strange bedfellows. And realpolitik makes for real strange bedfellows.

    Why is ISIS my problem?
Why do the loudest do the least?
